The ‘Krems Cooperation Research Award 2025’ is an award that recognizes outstanding scientific achievements in the field of life sciences. The award is intended to promote young researchers in the field of life sciences – in the following areas:

Pharmaceutical/medical (bio)technology, Regenerative medicine, Clinical medicine (new therapeutic and diagnostic procedures incl. AI), Preclinical medicine.

Scientific work that researches new applications in the aforementioned fields in cooperation with a company or an institution at Technopol Krems were honoured.

On the 23rd of June the grant awarding ceremony took place in Krems, Austria. The special prize focussing on ‘3R relevance/alternatives to animal testing’ was awarded after rigorous review of a committee comprised of 3Rs experts for the first time.

The winning project received € 500, donated by the European Society for Alternatives to Animal Testing (EUSAAT), to:

Romana Eisenböck for her Bachelor thesis entitled:

“Culturing limbal stem cells isolated from human corneas: The impact of agrin, Wnt-16b, and transduction with a lentiviral vector”
